Alien Dark

Alien Dark is a game about people on the frontier of human space where corporations compete for dominance while colonists risk everything to carve out a better life. Alien Dark is based on the Cthulhu Dark rules (by Graham Walmsley) and inspired by the Alien franchise and the Alien RPG (Free League Publishing). This session will use the updated (2nd Edition) of the rules which will soon be available for free.

No experience necessary - rules will be taught.

THE PLAYER CHARACTERS ... are members of the 7 person crew of the Bison-class USCSS Meridian, contracted by Weyland-Yutani to carry supplies and spares to a ‘shake-n-bake' terraforming colony in the Outer Rim Territories. The session is timed to take place several years after the events of 'Alien 3' ... not that the characters know anything about those events, which were covered up by the Company. We now a lot, but the characters will play to find out …

CONTENT WARNING ...  Body Horror & Gore. This is a game in which people serve as hosts to xenomorphs and are viewed as expendable by the corporations that compete to exploit the Galaxy. The system also deals with tension between crew members under pressure ... which can get nasty when things come out of the shadows ...

SAFETY TOOLS ... Given the nature of the material, and to make sure everyone has a good time, we'll be using a set of layered safety tools, the use of which I'll explain. I'll come with some starting Lines & Veils, which players will be able to add to, while the X-Card and an Open Door will also be in play. However, it will NOT be possible to Line or Veil the material outlined in the CONTENT WARNING … make sure you come prepared for that!
