UK Games Expo welcomes members of the press and media from all over the world. All approved applications will receive an email confirming their press pass.

Visiting as members of the Press

You can apply for a Press Pass to attend and cover the event as a member of the press. This Press Pass will grant you access to the Show Preview and Judges Awards Ceremony, and will identify you as press for filming and interviewing purposes in our halls. Additionally, having a Press Pass will allow you access to all three days of the event.

  • Ideally, focus on the games industry.
  • Maintain a reasonable following on your website and social media platforms.
  • Post regularly on your website and social media.
  • Be willing to showcase UK Games Expo throughout the weekend across all platforms.
  • Use hashtags and collaborations so we can keep track of everything.
  • Ideally be in attendance at the Thursday evening awards and press preview events.

Remember

Your press pass DOES NOT allow:

  • Early access to halls at the NEC.
  • Free access to any ticketed event taking place across the show weekend.

I have been rejected for a Press Pass:

As you can imagine, we get a lot of applications each year for press passes. Our aim, as always, is to ensure that we have the best coverage of the show from any of our press pass recipients.

We accept press pass applications from those who we believe will add value to our show. If you have attended as press the previous year, our team will look at what has been done and posted and then make a decision in the best interests of UKGE.

We look for regularity of posting, relevance, and audience. We take into account those applicants who have attended previously and what they did at the show, but we also look at new influencers, press and news applicants.

  • Please note that due to the sheer volume of applications, we do not provide feedback on rejected press applications. Please do not call the office.
  • Previous approval or rejection does not affect your current application. Being approved as Press at a past UK Games Expo does not guarantee approval in the future.

Although your press pass has not been approved, you are welcome to attend the Thursday night Show Preview and cover that across your channels.

You can apply for the Show Preview when applications open again.
