Ticket FAQs

Everyone attending the show needs a show Entry Ticket. This gives full access to the Trade Halls, Demo games, Open Gaming Area, Family Zone, Playtest, and Seminars. In other words your Entry ticket plus the Trade stand fees is what pays for the show as well as the accommodation costs of the army of volunteers who make Expo happen.

In addition if you want to play in any Tournament or Roleplaying Game there is an additional Event Fee as specified on each Event Page. This is what pays for the EXTRA rooms we need to accommodate all the tournaments, all the acres of cloth we use for them, prize support for those events that are unsponsored, trophies and Umpire/ Gms expenses and accommodation as it is fair that folk who give up their time to run the events are not out of pocket. Generally when you add it all up, Tournaments and RPG's actually cost Expo money to run and that is why we ask tournament players to also buy an Entry ticket.

SINGLE DAY TICKET: Adults £18, Young Adult (11 to 15 years) £12. Family £50.

TWO DAY TICKET: Adults £34, Young Adult (11 to 15 years) £22. Family £90.

THREE DAY TICKET Adults £46, Young Adult (11 to 15 years) £34. Family £110.

FAMILY TICKET admits 2 adults and 2 young adults.

Child Tickets

Children aged 10 and under are admitted free to UK Games Expo. These tickets will be issued on your arrival at the convention. Simply ask at the ticket desk for the tickets when you arrive.

Entry Tickets are on sale here...

RPGs, Miniature, Card and Boardgame tournament entry fees are dependant on game system. Some tournaments may be discounted where they have specific sponsorship.

Roleplaying Games: £4 per 4 hour game

Board Games: Tournaments £7 per day

Card Games:  Tournaments £7 per day

Miniatures Tournaments £9 per day

Live Entertainment Events £7 to £12 a ticket.

Event tickets will start to go live 7th May 2021

The Prices you see above are INCLUSIVE of VAT charged at the current VAT rate

YOU CAN BUY ENTRANCE AND EVENT TICKETS* AT THE SHOW.

We want everyone to be able to come and enjoy UKGE. If you are attending UKGE and need a carer to facilitate your visit then consider this:

1. If your Carer is also a gamer and will be playing the games and be fully involved as an attendee themselves then they pay full rates like all other gamers.

2. But If you are attending UK Games Expo and due to a disability need a carer to get in and round UKGE BUT the carer is not themselves interested in games  (or their ability to enjoy the show is significantly reduced) we do look at a discount or free ticket for the Carer. Contact [email protected] and we will discuss the matter further.

When booking Tickets please ensure you are familiar with the attendee terms and conditions.

How do I request a refund before the show?

Refunds are requested by logging into your customer account and visiting the orders page.

Click on the order you want fully or partially refunded.

The details of this order will be shown.

Click on the "request refund" button below the order you want refunded.

You can request a complete refund or a partial refund.

Follow the refund instructions on that page.

Please note we don't mind why you need a refund which is why there isn't a space to explain. We are happy to refund your tickets before the show if you can't use them or don't want them. We understand that sometimes life gets in the way.

If an Attendee buys tickets online, but then discovers that he will be unable to attend, a refund of the purchase price may be obtained by requesting a cancellation provided that the application is received by midnight on the Thursday immediately preceding the event. If an request is sent after this day no refund will be made.

I have tried the "refund request" but still do not have a refund what should I do?

Refunds can take up to three working days to process so please allow enough time for us to deal with your request. Your refund may not appear in your bank until 10 working days after we have refunded it. If you have not had a refund after 10 working days the feel free to contact Tony Hyams.

Please be aware that in the event of refund requests made in the 7 days prior to the convention we may not process the refund until 2 weeks after the event.

Refunds are not accepted if requested after the show.

At the Show

If an Attendee has purchased an Event Ticket (other than for a miniatures’ tournament), but is then unable to participate in the tournament or role playing game for which he had bought an Event Ticket, he may present the Event Ticket to the admin desk and request a refund. Refunds will only be made if the admin desk manager in their absolute discretion considers that there is a reasonable chance that the Event Ticket could be re-sold. Therefore requests for a refund made within 4 hours of the start time are unlikely to be met.

While we do not swap or exchange tickets, (Things can get a bit messy), you can simply request a refund for your current tickets and purchase the new tickets you require.

How to request a refund?

This information will be updated as we approach the 2022 show.

At present we do not expect that there will be a need to show covid status at the 2022 show but in event of a change we will publish the rules.

Previous 2021 status rules follow:

Everyone aged 16 and up must present a NHS Covid Pass or equivalent evidence .

Children aged 12 to 15 must present evidence of a negative lateral flow test.

Please see Other Accepted Evidence for details of equivalent evidence.

You must present your evidence of COVID status to a COVID check point.

Public Health Solihull have issued further COVID check requirements for entry to the Expo as of 23rd July 2021. These are detailed below.

You Will Need to Provide Evidence of low risk of transmitting COVID 19

Covid Check points: Open from 7:15 am

A Covid Status Check point will be located at the Piazza Entrance, the Atrium Entrance and the Rail link from the station.

There will be an additional check point for Exhibitors entering via the VE doors into the trade hall.

These check points will be open from 7:15am.

After 7pm the only check point will be outside Hall 3, the other check points will re-open again at 7:15am.

It will be necessary to show evidence the first time you access the NEC on Thursday or Friday.

You will also have to show evidence the first time you access the NEC on Saturday or Sunday.

This means you must show valid evidence TWICE if you enter during both periods.

Once you have shown evidence, you will be able to enter and leave at will for the rest of that two day period by presenting your COVID clear token on entry to the NEC.

This token will be given to you by the NEC security teams one you've passed the COVID check point.

The NHS Covid Pass is available to those with

  1. A negative home Lateral Flow test or negative PCR test within the previous 48 hours.
  2. Evidence of full vaccination with Pfizer, Astra Zenecka, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccines at least 2 weeks previously.
  3. Evidence of positive PCR test within the past 6 months providing this is after you've finished self-isolating and up to 180 days after taking the test.

All of these are recognised by the NHS app as the evidence required for a NHS Covid Pass. You must show your NHS Covid Pass in electronic or paper form to gain access.

Find out more about the NHS Covid Pass here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-pass/

Other accepted evidence

The NHS Covid pass only works for people aged 16 and over so children aged 12 to 15 should bring electronic or paper evidence of a negative covid test.

Anyone can present evidence of a Negative Covid test (Lateral Flow or PCR) within the previous 48 hours test as an alternative to the NHS Covid Pass.

We also accept documentation showing full vaccination status whether received in the UK or another nation.

We will not ask for evidence from anyone under 12

Obtaining evidence of a Negative Lateral Flow Test

Home test kits are free to anyone in the UK. You can collect these at many pharmacies or by ordering from the goverment website (next day delivery).

The kits come with instructions on how to take a test.

You then must report the test outcome and receive evidence of a negative test from https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

COVID Passes and vaccination status in other parts of the UK

  • Proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test (LFT), reported and demonstrated via a text message or email from NHS Test and Trace. This can be on your device or a printout. The test needs to be taken within 48 hours of the time of your arrival at the NEC for each check.

OR

If you are visiting from outside the UK please bring evidence of Full Vaccine status or a negative PCR test such as you required to travel to the UK.

Use of NHS Covid Pass

  1. Download the NHS App (NOT the NHS COVID App)
  2. Login to the app (using the App's set up process)
  3. Click 'Get your NHS COVID Pass'
  4. Agree to Term & Conditions
  5. Select 'Events Trials'
  6. This will give you the QR code pass shown below.

N.B. It might be a good idea to download this as a PDF (one of the options in the App at this stage) and print it as a physical copy in case phone signal is not good or phone batteries die.
