A clever deckbuilder which uses a unique puzzly system of combining cards to optimise your turn.

After Us is a deck-building and resource management game featuring an original and intuitive combo system in which players are each leading a tribe of apes. Starting only with tamarins, they combine their cards each turn to collect resources and gather victory points, attracting new apes into their tribe along the way: powerful gorillas, resourceful orangutans, versatile chimpanzees, and wise mandrills. The first player to obtain 80 points prevails in the race to collective intelligence — and wins the game.

2083. Humankind died out decades ago, leaving behind mere vestiges of its time on Earth. As time went by, nature reclaimed land all over. In this resurgent world, apes have kept evolving. They've been gathering in tribes, growing, mastering human items, and advancing in their quest for knowledge. As the leader of such a tribe, you need to guide it towards collective intelligence.

To win a game of After Us, you must reach 80 victory points before your opponents do. On each turn, players simultaneously draw the 4 top cards of their decks and combine them in front of them in order to form small boxes to activate. They can then activate each box, from left to right, to collect resources, gain victory points and trigger their apes’ special abilities. The core of the game lies in making the wisest combinations to obtain what you need at a given time, depending on the cards you drew. Once the activation phase is over, players can add an ape to their tribe: a chimpanzee, a gorilla, a mandrill or an orangutan. The choice depends both on the currently available resources and the sought monkey’s ability.

The premise behind CDSK is simple. You need to answer a question on a topic, but as a team you decide how much you think you know about that topic. Choose between 1-10 to get a unique question based on that difficulty level. If you get it right, you move that many spaces up the board.

Too confident? You won’t go anywhere. Too careful? You’ll be crawling. But if you answer just right… you’ll zoom off to glorious victory!

Experiencing nearly a decade of critical acclaim and best seller status in France (as TTMC), CDSK localises the game and brings it to the UK.

Tonight, the queen holds a banquet that everyone will attend. Will they leave a good impression? Backstabbing is fair game, and no trick is too dirty if it allows you to place your favourite families in the spotlight.

In Courtisans, you receive and play three cards on each of your turns. One is played at the Queen's table to sway a family's influence, whether in a positive or negative manner.

The two other cards are played in your domain and in an opponent's domain, and they can be worth positive or negative points, depending on their family's status at the end of the game. Choose where best to place your three cards if you want to end up with the most points and win.

In the Cyclades archipelago, off the shores of a divided Greece, players develop their cities and compete for supremacy under the watchful gaze of the gods.

In Cyclades: Legendary Edition, designers Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublanc have reworked the Cyclades base game and its many expansions to make gameplay more dynamic and fluid.

The game features a strategic bidding system that defines the actions available to each player on their turn. You must balance your finances to optimise the various actions provided by the different gods, with each player gaining the support of only one god each turn. The game features a shorter and more dynamic bidding phase than the original Cyclades thanks to a new exponential bidding scale. Six gods are available instead of the five, increasing the variety of actions available:

  • Ares allows the movement of player armies and the building of fortresses.
  • Poseidon allows players to move their navies and build ports.
  • Zeus allows his followers to hire priests and build temples.
  • Athena provides her worshipers with philosophers and universities.
  • Apollo increases the income of his worshipers.
  • Hera provides mercenaries to enforce your troops during battle.

Players now use landscape tiles to assemble the modular game board during set-up, allowing for ever-changing maps and game strategies. New creatures and heroes are available in the base game, offering new strategic opportunities to build metropolises and gain decisive advantages on the battlefield. Your goal is to be the first to control three metropolises, which can be obtained as follows:

  • Economic development, by constructing four different buildings.
  • Intellectual development, by owning four philosophers.
  • Heroic deeds, when sacrificing a hero.
  • Military conquest, when seizing an enemy city by strength.

Cyclades: Legendary Edition features three game configurations:

"Classic" mode for 3-5 players in which each player defends their own interests.

"Team" mode for 4 or 6 players in which you play in teams of two, co-operating with one another and competing against others.

An enhanced and refined two-player mode.

Around – 15,000 BC. AD, your clan lives in Doggerland, a vast fertile land now covered by the English Channel and part of the North Sea.

Your goal is to survive and develop in the face of the harsh seasons thanks to the resources discovered during your expeditions and the tools you will make.

Unfortunately, the harvested resources will run out and your village will have to migrate to more favourable regions. In each game, the territory is different thanks to a system of tiles revealed randomly throughout your explorations.

If you manage to produce enough animal skin clothing to protect you from the cold, feed your clan through hunting and gathering, make enough tools to help you, develop your travel and transportation skills resources, then you can devote time to increasing your population, developing your village, devoting yourself to Art, making small decorative objects and erecting megaliths to celebrate your gods.

It's up to you to do your best, so that your clan is the one that will leave the biggest mark in history!

Faraway

One of the most hyped releases of 2024. A classic tableau builder card game with a unique scoring system.

A fast game for 2 to 6 players, with an original and climactic reverse-scoring mechanism. The game scales very well to all player counts, and provides speedy play but with crunchy decisions.

Create a tableau of 8 cards, from left to right. Each card can help previous ones score, and is in itself an opportunity to score later. You'll need careful planning to play your cards effectively, but remember they will be scored in the opposite order you played them.

Background
Welcome to Alula, a mysterious continent with ever-changing geography, shaped after the rhythm of the seasons. Roam across the land in search of its secrets, meet its inhabitants and list its wonders in order to gain more fame than your opponents.

Throughout a game of Faraway, you will play a row of 8 cards in front of you, from left to right. These cards represent the regions you will come across while exploring the lands. Characters on these cards will grant you victory points if you later fulfil the conditions they demand. At the end of the game, you walk back the same way, scoring cards in the opposite order you played them. There lies the heart of the gameplay. Throughout the game, the cards you play will serve both to set new objectives, and to meet the ones you played previously.

Each turn, you play a card from a hand of 3. Then you pick a new card from a face-up river. As play is simultaneous in Faraway, you must take into account a clever priority system in all of your choices – being last to pick a card leaves you with fewer options and often less profitable choices for the next turns.

During each turn, back and forth, a player must pick and remove from the grid a picture they think is not their partner's secret image. Ideally, the chosen card should give their teammate a clue about their own card.

If at any point, a player removes their partner's secret card, the game is lost.

KRONOLOGIC Paris 1920 is the first part of a series. KRONOLOGIC contains 3 puzzles, each with 5 different solutions at increasingly complex difficulty levels. That's enough to do a good fifteen different games.

KRONOLOGIC Paris 1920 takes place at the Paris Opera at the beginning of the 20th century. But everything does not go as planned and events take place. This is how, for example, a person was poisoned and died in the night. But who is responsible?

All players will investigate, but the first to discover the solution will be the winner. it will then be necessary to look for clues to define who the accused is and where he committed his misdeed. But in KRONOLOGIC , we also add the temporal dimension, that is to say that we must also know when the crime took place.

KRONOLOGIC therefore presents itself as a modern Cluedo where you have to find the “who”, the “where” but also the “when”! Each turn, a player will give public information and receive private information depending on the location, the character questioned and/or when!

Everyone will carry out their investigation secretly by taking notes. Enough to make the neurons smoke! It must be said that the game is by Yoann Levet and Fabien Gridel, well known for their deduction and logic games (Turing Machine).

The investigator who has the solution first will be the winner.

Line-It

Player Range

In Line-it, you build an ascending or descending line of numbered cards to score points. Will you play safe and bank the points to start a new line, or will you keep trying to add to the line to claim a jackpot?

The deck consists of cards in four colours numbered 1-100 and six "Bet" cards numbered 3-5. Shuffle the deck, then lay out cards in the market equal to two more than the number of players. Starting with the first player, each player must pick a card, then either start a line/add it to their line or place it in their hand. Your maximum hand size is two, and if you can't add the card to your hand or your line (because it would break the ascending/descending pattern), you must score your line, and then play that card to start a new line. You can add one Bet card to your line without regard for its ascending/descending status or the value of your end card.

After drafting a card, you may choose to play one card from your hand into your line, then you may choose to score your line. When you score, if you have a Bet card in the line, see whether you've added a number of cards to your line after the bet that at least equals the value of the Bet; if so, take a positive number token equal to the Bet card, and if not, flip that token to its negative side instead. Next, discard three cards from the line, then flip all the remaining cards face down and place them in your scoring pile.

After everyone has drafted (and optionally played and scored), discard unchosen Bet cards, then place unchosen number cards under the jackpot token that matches their colour: yellow under the star, green under the leaf, etc. If during your turn, you add the third card of a colour to your line, you immediately claim the cards under the matching jackpot token and place them in your scoring pile.

When you can't lay out enough cards, each player in turn plays one card from their hand, then scores their line and tallies their points. You earn 1 point for each scored card, then gain/lose points from the Bet tokens you collected. Whoever has the highest score wins.

In each of the five rounds of the game, you’ll have to go along with the Emperor’s plans by hiring workers to build magnificent Palaces and contribute to the realisation of the Great Wall. You will install Governors, with the support of Officers, in the various regions to consolidate control. You will send a ship in search of the elixir of long life so desired by the Emperor.

With this, you will earn a place for your family’s insignia in the immense Terracotta Army that is destined to watch over the Emperor’s Mausoleum for eternity. They will give you permanent support during the rest of the game or you can play them directly to the Emperor’s Court to obtain approval for your actions.

When you are in the presence of the Emperor at his Court, you will have to know how to approach or move away appropriately, because only at the right distance can you obtain the emperor’s approval.

At the end of the game, the player who made the greatest contribution to the Emperor’s cause by scoring the most Victory Points will win.
