The DanDMadeEasy Hypercustomizable DnD 5E Character Journal lets adventurers create custom Journals for their Dungeons and Dragon Fifth Edition characters from the comfort of their home workshop using a color printer and card stock.

The Journal is a first-in-kind in the print at home player aid space and has been designed with the following key principles:
Custom - Just as the imagination is the only limit in D&D, it is with the Character Journal too. As adventurers make their own Journals, they get to choose what to include in it, and can make it truly unique. The Journal supports characters with any number of classes while still supporting detailed tracking of all class abilities. This is achieved as each class section is separated into a dedicated Class Insert (Inserts are available for all 12 core D&D 5E classes). Over 300 covers are available for the Journal in a range of styles, allowing players to customize their Journals to match their characters and their personalities. Optional pages can be added to Journals, for example an Encounter log, Location pages, Magic Item pages, and Familiar or Companion pages. If a Journal section isn't long enough for the player, extra pages can be added. For sections of the Journal where an image is expected (e.g. player portrait/image, Magic Item images, Wild Shape Form images), the Journal gives players the option to either upload files to include in their Journal or sketch the image themselves.  Adventurers can expand their Journals over time as they gain new levels in existing classes or add new ones.
Easy - The Journal makes D&D play easy. The Journal stores information in an intuitive way, for example listing social, offensive and defensive abilities on the same spreads as skills, attacks, and defensive attributes, respectively. Features like this and the Journal's interior tabs make it easy to find the information a player is looking for. The Journal is packed with rules reminders and infographics to make play easy, for example infographics to support healing on a short rest, and to remind players how to make death saves and concentration checks. Class Inserts list all abilities for the corresponding class and all resources that class gains, such as spell slots and resources from features like Wild Shape, Bardic Inspiration and Rage. Level indicators and refresh markers make it clear when each ability is gained, and whether a player's character should refresh it after each rest.
Stylish and immersive - The Journal looks and feels like it belongs in a D&D game. As each Journal is custom-created by its owner, flicking through and updating Journals feels immersive and doesn't break the 4th wall.

Creating Journals

Adventurers can fill text in the Journal's PDF files before printing, or print files and fill text by hand.

The Journal supports A4 and Letter printing on any color printer. 11 versions of every Journal page are available in each page size to support seamless double-sided printing regardless of a printer's double-sided printing alignment. 4 different binding methods are recommended to bind printed Journals, one of which just requires string and a hole punch!

Detailed instructions for how to create and use Journals are provided along with the Journal, and videos of the process for creating Journals are available on YouTube. Video tours of example Journals are also available on YouTube.

Purchasing and licensing

The Journal can be purchased with all available files (almost 800 files in total, RRP £40), or piecemeal (RRP £5 for interior files, £3 per set of files for each class). Licensing allows licensees to create Journals for other players (so long as they don't sell Journals or use them in trade), but not share files with other individuals (an exception is made for sharing files with children to support a shared crafting experience between parent and child).

The Journal is offered for free for use in school D&D clubs, charity events, therapy sessions and other pro-community activities. It is currently being used in this fashion by a few outreach licensees worldwide.

Some files in the Journal include text that is the Intellectual Property of Wizards of the Coast, which is licensed using the Open Gaming License v 1.0a.
