Pegasus Spiele GmbH

About

German Board Game Publisher

Founded in 1993 by the current managing directors Karsten Esser and Andreas Finkernagel as a retail shop in downtown Friedberg, Pegasus Spiele has long since established itself not only as a distributor but also as a publisher of successful board games.

This is also reflected in the numerous honors from the Spiel des Jahres jury since 2009. In 2014, Pegasus Spiele became the first publisher to win both the Spiel des Jahres (Camel Up) and the Kennerspiel des Jahres (Istanbul) in the same year. In 2015, a new children’s game line was successfully launched, and in 2016 a Pegasus Spiele children’s game (Mmm!) was nominated for the first time for the Kinderspiel des Jahres award. In 2017 Pegasus Spiele won the Spiel des Jahres with Kingdomino, and again in 2018 with Azul.

With Dragomino receiving the Kinderspiel des Jahres award in 2021, Pegasus Spiele won the blue Kinderspiel des Jahres pawn for the first time. In the same year, the company also celebrated MicroMacro: Crime City (together with Edition Spielwiese) winning the Spiel des Jahres 2021. In 2022, the Kennerspiel des Jahres went to Friedberg for the third time with Living Forest, and in the anniversary year 2023 Dorfromantik – The Board Game secured the Spiel des Jahres award.
