Games in Education

About

Games in Education run the Academic Track at UK Games Expo - back for our second year.

Come and talk to us about using games in learning, education, and community building.

Friday 9-6pm, Saturday 9-6pm

  • Demo your games at our academic track on Sunday
  • Try out games for learning - some commercial, some bespoke
  • Share your work around play in a one-to-one interview

Games in Education is all about promoting the educational use of commercial and bespoke games for teaching, learning, assessment and community building. We're associated with the Playful Learning Association, Big Ed Games, and the PLaY Group, and always looking for collaborators.

We'll be demoing how we  use commercial games in the Higher Education classroom on the stand, and running playtests of games in development.

On the Sunday of UK Games Expo we run the academic track - a get-together for designers, makers, adaptors, users and players of games for education. There will be a few short talks, a roundtable (using the unconference fishbowl format) for everyone to get involved, and then the opportunity to show your work for an hour with a demo session that's open to all.

This year we are asking “Can board games save the world?” - come along and have your say.
