Each player has a hand of cards, representing both their life points and their currency.

The first player to complete an objective (whether secret or shared by all players) wins the game. But be careful: you’re eliminated if you run out of cards in your hand. Acquiring cards from auctions will grant you powers that make it easier to achieve your objectives.

IAfter years of amassing riches and consolidating power, you dream of ruling the world.
Because of course, you deserve to! Unfortunately, rivals think they can steal your spotlight. You must protect the secrets of your success by building your lair, installing traps, and recruiting sentries. You will also need to thwart your opponents’ plans by stealing their secrets.
But beware! Their lairs will also be heavily secured, so prepare carefully before breaking in.

• Respect the placement rules. Place traps, walls and secret treasures.
• Increase your agent’s skills.
• Are the lairs ready? Each player infiltrates an opponent’s lair with their agent and tries to steal as much treasure as possible!

Who will succeed the King of Limbo?

Each player takes on the role of an overlord vying for the Throne of the Underworld.

A game of STYX is divided into turns called Audiences. During each Audience, 2 Emissaries from the Tribes of the Underworld are sent forth to pledge their allegiance to the Throne. Each player secretly chooses a token determining their chosen course of action toward the Emissaries. Depending on the players’ choices, they may gain the allegiance of the tribe, influence, gold, and the Elements they need to win the race to the Throne. They may also choose to betray the Emissaries, slaying them in order to harvest their souls and slow their competition down.
