Aridnyk is a family board game based on the stories and legends of the Carpathian highlanders of Ukraine, the Hutsuls. In this game, you play as shepherds: you will explore the Carpathians, trade with powerful spirits, fulfill intricate plots, and use magical trinkets. The player with the largest flock at the end of the game will be declared the winner!

Since the dawn of time, the Carpathian land has been known for its magic and wonders. The shepherds who tend their flocks in the vast polonyna meadows are ancestrally familiar with the local spirits, enchanted treasures, and powerful spells; hence, they always profit greatly from their craft. Their paths lead to the land where Drizd is herding his magical sheep, the giant Vovk is roaming around the cliffs, and, chained amongst the cloudy peaks, the four-eyed Aley is sleeping… And when the shepherds return from the polonynas, they shall see whose flock is the biggest, the most cared for, and the victor will be showered with the highest praise and honor.

The game is available in English and in Ukrainian and was crowdfunded on Kickstarter in 2025.
