About

A Life in Purgatory is the fast-paced, laugh-out-loud trivia style strategy card game.

A Life in Purgatory is an engaging 2-4 player strategy game that combines social deduction, trivia, and competitive card play. Players strive to be the last one standing by convincingly lying or telling the truth to gain powerful cards from the Heaven and Hell decks.

About the Game

The core gameplay revolves around drawing a Purgatory Card (Fact/Lie, Headline Quote, or Fact/Lie About) and presenting it as either a truth or a lie. Opponents then vote secretly.

 - Success in Lying earns a powerful Hell Card.

 - Success in Truth earns a helpful Heaven Card.

Heaven and Hell decks contain strategic Attack, Defence, Buff, and Debuff cards, which players use to manage their Life Tokens and disrupt opponents. The game's design "fixes" traditional trivia style games by rewarding skill in deception over pure knowledge, ensuring high replayability. (Learn more about the game here)

A Life in Purgatory is the fast-paced, laugh-out-loud trivia style strategy card game where facts and fiction collide! In this game of wits, charm, and cunning, players must try to build the ultimate hand—but here’s the twist: you don’t have to know the answer… you just have to sell it.

Each turn, players read a real or fabricated statement aloud. Is it true? Is it made up on the spot? Only they know—and it’s up to the others to decide. Call out a lie, believe a truth, or get played like a fiddle. If you fool the table, you earn the card. If you get caught bluffing, you lose your chance.
