Stand Inspections
Some stands may need an inspection by a structural engineer to make sure they are safe for the public.
Stands that use only a shell scheme do not require an inspection.
Stands that are just tabletop with pull up banner do not require an inspection.
If you have a complex stand, it will be subject to an inspection (fee to be confirmed). It is the responsibility of the stand designer to determine whether a structure is complex or not.
Examples of complex structures:
- Any structure, regardless of its height, which requires structural calculations
- Multi-storey stands
- Custom-built/bespoke suspended structures
- Sound/lighting towers
- Temporary tiered
- Platforms and stages of 0.6m in height and over and all platforms and stages for public use (not including stand floor flats and platforms)
The organiser and the show contractor reserve the right to deem a structure ‘complex’ where this has not correctly been determined by the designer.
