Publisher & Designer Events
Publisher & Designer Events
These events primarily take place in the Piazza Suites at the NEC, which have a number of rooms with a capacity ranging from 30 to 150 seats, including theatre and workshop style layouts.
- Events should be targeted at an audience of artists, writers, designers, publishers, or others in the industry and should focus on creating, designing, making, or selling games. Submissions that consist mostly of marketing content will not be approved.
- If you are submitting an event as a company or publisher, we prioritise those who have a stand or presence at UKGE and are submitting content with broad relevance to visitors, rather than those who would only be attending to run a Seminar event to promote themselves or a product.
Guidelines for Hosting Events at UKGE
- We provide speakers with a complimentary entry ticket for the day of their event, but we do not offer appearance fees, transportation costs, or accommodation.
- While some event locations have AV equipment that can record audio, our priority is to cater to visitors at UKGE. The equipment and setup at these locations focus on the visitor experience rather than the recording or media production.
- We prefer events to be un-ticketed, allowing anyone with a valid UKGE Entry ticket to attend, with unreserved seating. If your event requires pre-registration or an application process, please inform us early so the audience has time to apply. UKGE may not have the capacity to screen applications, so you must handle this yourself.
- If your event requires consumables, (such as materials for participation in a workshop) ticketing may be considered to recover these costs after the event. The ticket price should include VAT. Sponsorship to cover costs in lieu of a ticket price requires prior agreement from the UKGE Directors.
- We will work with Event Organizers to schedule approved events at the best possible times. Earlier submissions will have more flexibility in scheduling. While we will try to avoid scheduling similar events at the same time, it may not always be possible.
- Events should be completed within 60 minutes, with time allocated for setup, seating, and audience departure, which will be shared with the preceding and following events. Elaborate setups are unlikely to be approved, and longer events are unlikely to be scheduled at peak times of UKGE.
- We will notify you via email regarding the acceptance or decline of your event. Please ensure your contact details on your UKGE account are accurate. If your event is accepted, you will be added to a mailing list for communication of event information. Unsubscribing from this list will result in non-receipt of event details.
