Twilight 2000: Day Zero

It is Midsummer’s Eve, 21 June 1997. The scenario takes place in the Björkö–Arholma area of the Stockholm Archipelago. Against an increasingly tense international backdrop, the body of a well-dressed man is discovered on the shore of an abandoned stone quarry on Björkö, close to the main shipping lane leading into Stockholm.

The man’s identity is unknown. Death appears to have been instantaneous, yet there are no visible signs indicating the cause.

Not far from the quarry lies the coastal artillery battery on the neighbouring island of Arholma, tasked with defending the maritime approaches to Kapellskär and Stockholm.

The player characters are a mixed group of government and security personnel dispatched to the site to investigate why a middle-aged man in an exceptionally expensive suit was present on a deserted beach on the night before Midsummer’s Eve — and what caused his death.

All of this unfolds in a Sweden, and a Roslagen region, sliding into a twilight state as the threat of Soviet invasion looms ever closer.
