The Locked Room - escape room murder mystery

Come and try your hand at solving puzzles and unmasking a murderer! We had several tweens take it on yesterday and they all succeeded!

This escape game for a class of up to 25 students takes the players into the world of murder mystery writing, introducing the golden age of detective fiction, and it's core trope - The Locked Room Mystery. Players learn how to tell a story through objects, how to gate key plot points, the writers “rules” of murder circa 1920 and how all Murder Mysteries are a game the author plays with the reader.

The game has been running in a Higher Education English “Genres” class for 7 years, although it's also visited scout camps, WI meetings and the odd Sherlock fan's birthday party. It's also the heart of a game design workshop that sold out at Airecon, and is running at the Voidspace Festival in London 7-8th June '25.
