Doomsong: role-play macabre

End your Saturday with some Roleplay Macabre by playing Doomsong the new TTRPG from Caesar ink, 

in the beginning, the one true God was murdered.

Now the Last Day looms and the dead walk free.

It’s your job to put them back in the ground.

Doomsong is a new (ish) ”rules light” TTRPG, from Caeser ink, where you play as Grave Diggers in the low-fi Fantasy setting of Painyme. This game is 18+ as it is Macabre (not full-on Horror) but it does explore themes of illness, hopelessness, personal cruelty and death. I can provide a list of trigger warnings (from the publisher) if you want.

Painyme, is a nation of saints and sinners, of foul heresy and undying devotion. Some of us fight against insidious influences, for this land contains a creeping darkness that whispers of power and wealth. Others reach out with trembling fingers to grasp just a sliver of the Traitor Gods’ approval...

You’re new here, are you not? At mention of the Traitor Gods, most folk make the Sign of the Crossed Ways, or at least clench their jaw and move on. In your eyes, I see only the blank gaze of ignorance. Well, you’ll learn of the Traitor Gods soon enough. If you stay, I’ve no doubt you’ll learn many things. You’ll learn what it means to take a life, to bury a friend, to wade through mud in leaking boots. You’ll learn to fear the night, and the terrible abominations that stalk it; then, you’ll learn to fear the day and those villains who dare to stand tall at noon.

You will learn or, I dare say, you will die…..
 

Source material the game materials will be taken from the Doomsong Campaign Lord Have Mercy Upon Us. So you will not be completing the whole campaign but you will get a taste of life as a Grave Digger in the setting and hopefully had some fun along the way.

Start of the Session. You will generate a character using Doomsongs character creation system, which is narrative driven  and a joy in itself, and yes your character can die in character creation! 

During the Session: You will explore the plague scape and do your best to further the grave diggers guild tenuous position in the kingdoms of Lethe.

End of Session. Will you have survived (character death is  common place) will you have strengthened or weakened the guilds position in its fight with the mysterious father plague?
