The Tale of the Beleaguered Explorer
Description
No-one would hunt for treasure in the sands of Ghodar without a verified map. The lure of ancient technology might be great, but not enough to risk falling foul of curious djinn, the minions of the Dark Between the Stars nor the sands themselves, under the sway of now wild engineering as they are.
No, maps are necessary – and with that they are a treasure unto themselves, attracting the attention of archaeotechnologists and their Legion bodyguards, disreputable treasure hunters, and even the Martyrs in their holy power suits – though the Martyrs would destroy the maps, for the safety of the people, of course.
And into such company you've been sent by your patron, Icons have mercy upon you, for a map has become available. It's unclear if it's for sale or simply become too great a burden for a frightened explorer, way out of their depth, but it doesn't matter: you are to get their map, and to encourage all other interested parties to leave well alone.

Coriolis is a space-opera game set in an Arabian-inspired background. The rules variant is recognisably Coriolis but has altered skills and new character elements that lean into the setting's cultures and the importance they place on storytelling.
Gender diversity and inclusion are standard in the background but economic inequality and culture clash are purposefully present.
