The Gradual End of a King
Description
The king is dying. Word of this is received by the nation's absent prince who makes his return.
And what does he see?
His sister distracted by her studies, not even caring about father. The vizier running the kingdom as if he were king himself. The jester stoking drama and trying to kiss powerful asses. A foreign ambassador sniffing around for just a hint of blasphemous sorcery. The king himself giving up up on life and constantly losing his temper.
You will take on the role of one of these characters within the court to fight for your beliefs.
This is a PvP scenario but that does not mean it'll be a battle royale! You must ally yourself with those who would support you and strike when the time is right. Burning Wheel is a great fit for this kind of game as it supports intrigue, argument and uncomfortable compromise. Burning Wheel is a fantasy game about fighting for your character's beliefs. It is a rare game of in depth mechanics supporting a narrative experience.
The game is a D6 dice pool system, feel free to bring your own or use the ones provided!
No experience is required.
