Platforms for Communicating and Streaming Content

Virtually Expo makes use of the following platfoms to allow you to chat to exhibitors and other visitors as well as to watch live streamed content.

Twitch

Twitch is used to Live stream content. This can include exhibitor presentations, seminars, live shows, publisher designer events including Boot Camp, the UKGE Awards 2020 as well as extra content from our media partners, On Table Top.

Discord

Discord is an online text and audio chat service which will allow you to chat with attendees and exhibitors, take part in events, and of course, join the queue.

Zoom

Zoom is an online meeting app. Some sessions take place in smaller Zoom meeting such as Roleplaying Games and Publisher-Designer Speed Dating.

Exhibitor Stand Chat Function

A Chat function exists in exhibitor stands. When it is active just click this button to start a video call direct to the stand. No additional software or logins are required.

Platforms for Playing Board Games online

The internet is full of excellent platforms for boardgames. These will be used in the Exhibitor Hall for demos, in tournaments and open gaming.

The majority of VASSAL modules are for wargames and hardcore strategy games

Platforms for Playing Roleplaying Games Online.

Roleplaying Games (RPGs) at Virtually Expo can we played using several different pieces of techonology. The GM who submits their game will also need to specify how you will be able to join the game. The actual link to the game will be shared after you have bought a ticket to play but the event description should contain an outline of what technology is going to be used.
