It's Virtually UK Games Expo...
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone so far. In March, we took the difficult decision first to postpone, and then to cancel UK Games Expo 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, we were determined not to let the year pass without providing some way for everyone to enjoy as much of the Expo as possible. Thanks to the vast array of technology solutions available and the continued support of our customers, volunteers, sponsors and show partners, we're happy to present Virtually Expo.
How it Works
We're using a range of different technologies to make as much as possible of the traditional expo available from the comfort of your own home. Using online broadcasting, video and text chat solutions, and different virtual gaming platforms, you will be able to meet, talk to and play with attendees in much the same way you'd expect at the physical expo.
We're working hard to bring you whatever it's possible to move online from the traditional expo.
Some things, like seminars and live shows, are easy to do with video chat and broadcasting tools. Other things, like our trade hall, we're having to build ourselves. If we can do it, we will.
We're determined that Virtually Expo feels virtually like being there.
Want to Exhibit at or Sponsor Virtually Expo?
We're also offering a free virtual stand at Virtually Expo to all the exhibitors who booked a stand at the physical show (either before it was postponed or before it was cancelled). This new online format offers potential for greater reach through an online audience that will be highly engaged over the course of Virtually Expo.
Details of how to participate will be communicated to existing exhibitors in the next week or two via an exhibitor mailshot which will also outline opportunities for sponsorship. Want to exhibit at Virtually Expo and did not have a stand at the cancelled show?
We understand, this is a new way of doing things, both for you and for us. To ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible during Virtually Expo, you'll be able to ask our friendly volunteers and knowledgeable ambassadors for help at any time during the event.
Do I need a ticket?
We've decided to make Virtually Expo freely available to anyone who wants to join in, so there are no entry tickets.
If you wish to support Expo and help out with the running costs, there will be the option to donate to Virtually Expo.
Some activities such as RPGs and tournaments will still require individual tickets in order to participate and will attract a small fee.
