17th August 2019
#BGDevCon is an event based in North London on 17th August 2019. It's aimed at anyone creating games, thinking of starting that adventure, or just wanting to learn more about game creation. The only type of game that is outside the scope of this event is videogames.
Network and share:
Meet other game-making folk, talk and share knowledge, listen, learn, maybe even brainstorm and collaborate. The lessons learned, the inspiration, motivation and connections you gather will help everyone on their journey with any current projects, as well as with future projects. #BGDevCon is not a playtesting event, but is part of the Playtest UK mission to help people make better games. If you share your game-creation questions, we can ensure that they are addressed over the course of the day.
Wide range of experience and audience:
The event is based around seminars and talking. Some folk attending will have sold hundreds or thousands of games, or may have been nominated for the Kennerspiel des Jahres. We'll have graphic designers, self-publishers, designers of LARPs, RPGs, boardgames, and we've had some curious newcomers join us in the past.
BGDevCon for all:
Everyone is welcome. Everyone is respected. Regardless of age, gender, race, game design experience, commercial success or any other factor.
Although the talks are aimed at adults, well behaved children are welcome. Last year, we had a 5-year-old attendee come along with no issues…although if that (now 6-year-old) wins an award before we do…well we’ll just have to have them give a talk next time!
