Hero Master: An Epic Game of Epic Fails
Humorous fantasy board game launches on Kickstarter
Hero Master: An Epic Game of Epic Fails launches on Kickstarter this Tuesday (18 September 2018).
A light hearted competitive dungeon bungle.
Designed and illustrated by Jamie Noble Frier (The Noble Artist), Hero Master adds a new spin on the fantasy genre – instead of playing the bold and the brave; you play the lazy, the dopey, and the borderline useless. Players will have to manage their hand of cards and their expectations of their heroes: they really are useless.
With a combination of bungling take-that, deck building and hand management, the game for two to four players has deeper gameplay than you’d expect from the playful artwork and infectious humour.
In fact, the debut fantasy board game, set in the fantasy parody land of Snoozehaven, has already received rave reviews from industry peers. Described as an excellent game that is fun and enjoyable (Unfiltered Gamer) with ‘charming artwork’ (Board’s Eye View) and ‘surprisingly deep strategy’ (Polyhedron Collider), Hero Master appeals to a wide audience. With something for deep dungeon crawl and RPG fans who would enjoy a light-hearted poke at their favourite genre, and newer players looking for a game with a little more complexity.
The Kickstarter campaign features the game at £29 ($39) for the base game and £49 ($63) for the deluxe bundle and the designer has already prepared a long list of stretch goals that will be sure to make for an exciting campaign.
