Event Description

Blood Bowl, (the fantasy football game by Games Workshop) at the UKGE will be a “resurrection style” tournament in which two Blood Bowl teams are pitted against each other over 2 hours and 30 minutes in a 16-turn game. The result of this game (win, lose or draw) is then submitted to the tournament organiser, points are scored and the teams are totally reset to begin round 2. After three round a winner is declared and so ends the Blood Bowl fun!
This tournament will use the rules produced by Games Workshop in 2016, any further rules altered or released by Games Workshop before May 31st 2019 will also be in force. Should you have any queries about this rules pack or any rule use please email: danieldavidatherton@gmail.com

Setting Up

What you need to bring
• A painted team
• A copy of your roster (this should be shared with your opponent prior to each game)
• Dice (block, d6, d8)
• Any other relevant tokens you feel you need
• A blood bowl pitch (either size is fine)

How many rounds?
Each team will compete in 3 game rounds.
The first round will be randomly drawn.
For round two and three the Swiss system will be used to determine your opponent (i.e. closest to you on your points ranking). Between rounds no tiebreakers are applied to those on the same score, so multiple players with the same tournament score will be drawn randomly against one another.

Creating your team
Rosters are purchased with a treasury of 1,150,000 gold crowns and any of the 23 teams recognised by the Games Workshop in the releases of Blood Bowl 2016 onwards. The full list of “teams of legend” can be found here: https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/blood_bowl/teams_of_legend_en.pdf

PLEASE BRING 3 COPIES OF YOUR ROSTER WITH YOU, ONE FOR YOU, ONE FOR YOUR OPPONENT, AND ONE FOR ME. I WILL CHECK LISTS DURING ROUND 1.

Inducements may not be purchased as part of your tournament roster other than the following exceptions:
• Halfling, Goblin and Ogre teams may hire 0-2 Star Players
• Goblins may hire 0-3 Bribes
• Halflings may hire a Master Chef
SPECIAL PLAY CARDS WILL NOT BE USED DURING THE DAY
If you include a Star Player(s) in your roster you must first have at least 11 regular roster players. If two coaches are drawn against each other in the tournament with the same Star Player on their roster, then both players are permitted to use the Star.
All teams also get to add some 4 additional skills to their roster. These skills are free and do not need to be paid for in any way. The additional skills are applied as follows:

Before the games begin: 1 normal skill and 1 “double”. These 2 skills should be given to two different players. The “double” skill refers to a skill that would require a double roll to be applied in a league situation. For example a Halfling cannot normally take a General skill, but can take one as his “double” option. Note that the double skill is optional, so you can choose to take two normal skills instead.

After Game 1: 1 normal skill. This skill must be given to a player who has not already had an additional skill allocated.
After Game 2: 1 normal skill. This skill must be given to a player who has not already had an additional skill allocated.

All the skills should be indicated on you roster before the start of the tournament.

Example Roster and skill allocation:
Lizardmen
6 Saurus (@ 80,000 Gold Crowns) = 480,000
5 Skinks (@ 60,000 GC) = 300,000
1 Kroxigor = 140,000
3 rerolls (@ 60,000 GC) = 180,000
1 Apothecary = 50,000
TEAM TOTAL = 1,150,000 Gold Crowns

I then choose to add the “Block” skill to both one Saurus (normal skill) and the Kroxigor (double skill) before the tournament begins.
After Game 1, I elect to give a Skink the “Sprint” skill (a normal skill for a Skink)
After Game 2, I elect to give a Saurus the “Break Tackle” skill (a normal skill for a Saurus)

Tournament points
Points are achieved as follows:
• 2 points for a win
• 1 point for a draw
• 0 points for a loss
• -4 points concession

Players on equal score will be separated by tiebreakers with the priority as follows:
• Strength of Schedule (the cumulative score of your opponents)
• NET Touchdowns
• NET Casualties
• Total Touchdowns and casualties combined

Time Table

Schedule
Players will have 2 hours and 30 minutes per game and we will try to stick to the following schedule. 4 minute turns will not be enforced but please try to be conscious of the time as you play, the referee will give you regular time updates as we go through each round and may request you use a clock or speak to the umpire if you are falling behind.

• Game 2: 13:30-16:00
• Game 3: 16:15-18:45

Prizes

There will be awards for:
1st place
Runner up
Stunty Cup (best placed Halfling, Ogre, or Goblin team)
Best offence (most touchdowns)
Most violent (most casualties, only count those caused by blocks)
