Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update (updated 12-03-2020)
On 12th March the UK Government modified their response to the Corona Virus to a DELAY state. This involved advice regarding self isolation for people with symptoms of a viral illness.
At this stage it does not involve cancellation of large scale events.
Our position is that we will follow official advice and thus Richard and Tony and the rest of the UKGE team wanted to reassure all our visitors that, at this time, the UK Games Expo is proceeding as planned.
We will continue to monitor the advice provided by the World Health Organisation and Public Health England and are having a briefing with our venues, the NEC and the Hilton, on a regular basis.
So it is business as usual. If anything changes at any time we will inform you all.
Original Post 4th March
At this time, the UK Games Expo is proceeding as planned.
We will continue to monitor the advice provided by the World Health Organisation and Public Health England and are having a briefing with our venue, the NEC, on a regular basis.
However, it seems you, the gaming community, are made of sterner stuff!
Expo ticket sales remain not just buoyant but 20% above last year and we could be looking at record numbers of attendance and unique visitors for 2020.
We shall take your lead and keep working to make this the best possible Expo yet!
Your message to us is clear: Keep calm and carry on gaming.
