Miniature Painting Competitions at Games Expo 2008

There are TWO competitions this year one for the Saturday and the other for the Sunday (the reasons for which will become clear in a moment).
The Saturday Painting competition is a standard entry competition with the following categories:
Best Fantasy Single Mini
Best Sci-Fi Single Mini
Best Big thing! (Monster / warjack / vehicle / TAG / Clau)
Best Squad / Unit
Best Overall (the Big prize)
Spot Prizes for:
Best Urban War Figure
Best Hell Dorado Figure
Best AT43 Re-paint
Best Warmachine / Hordes figure
Best Infinity Figure
Best Flames of War Unit / Vehicle
Best Confrontation figure
Prizes include: A Complete set of P3 paint worth over £150, limited edition miniatures for some of the spot prizes, lots of miniatures to make up the prize packages, carry-cases, scenery and a whole host more. The exact mix of prizes will be available on the day but the overall winner will walk away with the P3 set and more besides.
Entries must be in at the Simple Miniature Games stand (in the main hall) by 12.30pm and the winner will be announced at 3.00pm. The miniatures will be displayed in a locked display case for everyone to drool over during the day.
The overnight challenge
The Sunday competition is a bit different, it’s an overnight painting challenge! Basically any miniature bought at the show during Saturday (or even Sunday morning if you’re really brave) can be entered on the Sunday so it’s time to see how fast you can paint up a top notch miniature (in between playing games and going to the pub)
We have everything you’ll need on the Simple Miniature Games stand for the competition if you didn’t want to bring your own paints including spray primers, paints, brushes and the all important Army Painter quick-shade which allows you to create good looking miniatures really fast!

Best Single Mini
Best Big thing! (Monster / warjack / vehicle / Clau)
Best Squad / Unit
Best use of Quick-Shade
Prizes for this one include the Army Painter Package worth over £100 which will be a set of Army Painter sprays, quick-shades and basing material so you can paint vast armies for months to come (really fast!) plus more miniatures and prizes.
Entries must be in at the Simple Miniature Games stand (in the main hall) by Mid-day at the latest and the winner will be announced at 2.00pm. The miniatures will be displayed in a locked display case for everyone to drool over during the day.
