Summary of the Child Safety Policy for UK GAMES EXPO 2016
Policies for the safety of children at UK Games Expo
UK GAMES EXPO takes safeguarding children seriously and has produced a safeguarding policy (the full document can be found here)
The safeguarding officer for the event is Lisa Oakley who will be located in the Family Zone during Trade Hall Opening Hours.
This summary is important for parents/carers to read ahead of the event
This is a family event and we welcome families to this. However, it is important to note that the organisation does not undertake activities with children in the absence of their parents/carers. Parents/carers remain responsible for their children’s welfare throughout the event, even in the family Zone.
We have a procedure for lost and found children, which will be followed if this happens. In order to prepare for the event we suggest you agree a security word with your child/ren so that in the event of them being found it is easy to reunite you, knowing we are giving children back to those responsible for them.
In the event of a lost child, responsoible adults are asked to inform the nearest Yellow Shirted UKGE volunteer, blue Shirted Ambassador or Green Shirted Team leader who will activate the Lost Child Policy.
The lost child point can be found at the Front Entrance Help Desk at location A3
We have put the policy into effect to try and safeguard all children and young people at the event.
