Grand Board Game Tournament.

David Norman is organising a mixed board game tournament. Expanding on the event we ran in 2007 this consists of am and pm sessions each day and full day tournaments. You choose which event to enter for each half day or instead you can enter a full day tournament. There will be individual winners for each different board game tournament and a Grand Tournament winner. The overall Championship will be based on your results in the individual tournaments you play in, with a significant advantage to those players who play more tournaments.

Saturday 31st May:

Sat Full Day tournament:

Imperial

Take on the role of the banking houses in the years before World War 1 and make your fortune playing in the affairs of the Great Empires. We are running a Full day tournament in this Eggertspiele game. Prize of £50 Voucher for winner of the Imperial Tournament

Sat am half day tournaments:

Tournament entrant registration from 8.30 to 9am with tournaments beginning at 9.30am prompt.

Container

Own your own merchant fleet and corner the shipping market. Saturday am Half day tournament in Container from Valley Games. Prize of £25 Voucher for the winner of our Container tournament.

Phoenicia

Struggle toward Civilization and build your own city state in this game from JKLM. Prize of £25 Voucher for the winner of our Phoenicia tournament.

Sat pm half day tournament:

Tournament entrant registration from 12.30 with tournaments beginning at 1.30 prompt.

Settlers

Colonise and build your way across the island of Catan. Just watch out for the bandit. Prize of £25 Voucher for the winner of our Settlers tournament.

On the Underground

Build the perfect Underground railway network and force the other players to move passengers across it. Prize of £25 Voucher for the winner of our On the Underground tournament.

Sunday 1st June:

Powergrid

Bid for coal, oil, trash and nuclear power stations and then use them to suply an expanding network of cities. Prize of £50 Voucher for winner of the Powergrid Tournament

Sun am half day tournaments:

UK Carcasonne Championship.

In agreement with Spielzentrum the UK Games Expo Carcasonne Championship will be a qualifying event for the World Carcasonne Championship to be held at Essen Spiel in October 2008. The UK Carcasonne Championship is the half day championship held on Sunday 1st June.
UK Games Expo will reimburse the cost of a flight from any UK Airport to Dussledorf or other travel expenses upto a total value of £100 of the winner.

St Petersburg

Build the City of St Petersburg and gain the services of Workers Nobles and Merchants. Prize of £25 Voucher for the winner of our St Petersburg Tournament.

Sun pm half day tournament:

Tournament entrant registration from 12.00 with tournaments beginning at 1.00 prompt.

Puerto Rico

Build up the caribean Island and choose wisely which crops to grow, when to send goods to the old world and when to bring in more colonists. Still the world number one board game. Prize of £25 Voucher for the winner of our Puerto Rico Tournament.

Acquire

Buying and selling shares to make your fortune.Prize of £25 Voucher for the winner of our Acquire Tournament.

We will schedule a long lunch interval so even players entering every event still have the chance to look round the rest of the Expo.

Prizes will include vouchers for games valid at JKLM stand and useable with online bookings at the JKLM website.
